'La Maurienne et l'aluminium, c'est toute une histoire !' The Espace Alu, on the church square of Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, traces more than 100 years of aluminium industry in the valley.
The self-guided visit costs €8 per adult, €4 per child aged 7-18, €6 reduced — free under 7. The audio-guide adds €1; the 'les essentiels' guided tour is €10 adult and €6 child.
The 2026 hours published by the Département: from 6 July to 30 August, Monday-Friday 10:00–13:00 and 14:00–19:00, weekends and holidays 10:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:30; then from 31 August to 11 September, Monday-Friday 14:00–18:00, closed holidays. In spring (7 March – 14 June), the museum opened by reservation only — guided visit, expert visit, escape game or birthdays. The site and building are fully accessible, by wheelchair without assistance.
