What is Lac Saint-André

The Lac Saint-André, at Les Marches (Porte-de-Savoie), formed in the debris of Mont Granier's collapse; today it is a departmental 'Grand Site' of Savoie, set amid the vineyard. A fitted path loops the lake in every season, and access is free.

The bathing rule deserves exact quotation: swimming is tolerated in the leisure zone, unsupervised, at users' own risk — and forbidden in the natural area and the fishing zone. The habitat is protected: birds, plants and insects protected by law, managed with the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Savoie, uses regulated by municipal order.

Fishing has its prices published by the commune: €35 a year, €22 a month, €10 a day, free under 12, boat hire €40 — 2026 season from Saturday 7 March to Sunday 6 December inclusive.
