What is Musée Savoisien

The Musée Savoisien, the departmental museum on place Métropole — the cathedral square — in Chambéry, tells the history and cultures of Savoie. Entry is free, as the official source states word for word.

The museum opens every day except Tuesday, 10:00–12:30 and 13:30–18:00. Its cloister stays open right through from 10:00 to 18:00, Tuesdays excepted. Guided tours and workshops are paid: €5 full price, €2.50 reduced (ages 3-26).

Three closures to know: 1 January, 1 May, 1 November and 25 December; and an annual closure in the second and third weeks of January.
