Plage des Mottets occupies the south-eastern shore of the Lac du Bourget, at Viviers-du-Lac. Supervised swimming 27 June to 30 August 2026, 10:00 to 19:00. Entry is paid, from €1.70 for an adult.

The regional health agency files this bathing site under the name « PLAGE DES MOTTETS » and rates it Excellent for the 2025 season, the most recent one published. 2022 to 2025 series: 5E · 5E · 5E · 5E.

Parking is not documented by the official source, and we do not infer it from the neighbouring beaches. The tourist office declares it « accessible en fauteuil roulant en autonomie » — wheelchair-accessible without assistance. Dogs are not allowed — « même en laisse durant la saison estivale », not even on a lead during the summer season. Grand Lac applies the same rule on all nine of its beaches.

Grand Lac runs nine beaches around the Lac du Bourget. The supervision rule and the animals rule are the same at every one of them; price, parking, accessibility and water rating are not, and have to be read beach by beach. That is why this page gives them separately rather than under one banner.

During the supervised season (27 June to 30 August 2026, 10:00 to 19:00). Outside that window no lifeguard is on duty and swimming is at your own risk.
