When to visit

The path is announced open all year by the Aix-les-Bains tourist office, 'subject to favourable weather'. AF3V rather suggests May to September and warns that the wooden-bridge crossings are 'extremely slippery' when wet. Both indications are reported as they stand.

No. The car-free stretch links Aix-les-Bains to Chambéry along the east shore. The tour is not entirely car-free: about 1.6 km is shared with the road between Le Bourget-du-Lac and Bourdeau, and there is no continuous land link between Chanaz and Aix-les-Bains (TER train or seasonal boat via the Canal de Savières).
