What is Voie verte du lac d'Aiguebelette
The voie verte du lac d'Aiguebelette runs along the south and east shore of the lake, from Sougey (Saint-Alban-de-Montbel) to La Combe (Aiguebelette-le-Lac), on a path reserved for walkers and cyclists. It forms the car-free stretch of the lake loop: a 16.9 km circuit rated easy, about 1 h by bike, 90 m of climb, of which the tourist office states '11 km of greenway', the rest on road.
The length of the greenway portion differs by source, and we give it as it stands: AF3V states 9.0 km (noting that 'a 3 km greenway has just been extended by 4 km'), Savoie Mont Blanc says 6 km, and the tourist office 11 km of the 17 km loop. The lake bans petrol-engine boats and has seven laid-out beaches.
