What is Le Sougey beach

Le Sougey beach, in Saint-Alban-de-Montbel, opens the leisure base on the west shore of the Lac d'Aiguebelette — one of France's warmest lakes. From 13 June to 30 August, swimming is supervised daily 10:00–19:00 and the beach is paid: €2.50 per adult on weekdays, €4 on weekends and holidays; €1 and €2 for children aged 5-12; a 10-entry card at €20; free under 5. Payment by card or paper ANCV holiday vouchers only. The rest of the year, the beach is free.

The rule holds lake-wide: 'Les plages du lac d'Aiguebelette, privées ou communales, sont payantes durant toute la période de surveillance'. The car parks, though, are all free — the tourist office underlines it with an exclamation mark. Another lake rule: animals and barbecues forbidden on the beaches.

Wheelchair access is possible with assistance, via an access ramp, per the official listing.
