Around the Lac d'Aiguebelette, the tourist office waymarks 300 km of routes. The most ambitious carries the lake's name: the Tour du Lac d'Aiguebelette on foot — 3 days, 60.4 km, +2,467 m, rated 'Difficile', from Lépin-le-Lac (the station — handy by train). Three published stages: 24.1 km and +1,230 m from Lépin-le-Lac; 22.3 km and +1,174 m from Aiguebelette-le-Lac; 14.1 km and +333 m from Novalaise.
Beware the same-name trap: Chartreuse Tourisme also publishes a 'Tour du Lac d'Aiguebelette' of 16.9 km, 291 m, 'Facile' — 'ideal for an easy ride accessible to all' — but that is a cycling fiche, 11 km of it on a greenway. A family planning to WALK the circuit must not rely on the bike version's figures. We publish both fiches side by side precisely for that.
