Aussois, a village resort at 1,500 m facing full south toward the Vanoise, keeps a human scale: 55 km of runs (8 km green, 19 blue, 19 red, 3 black), 21 waymarked runs, 8 lifts and 135 snow guns, with a snowpark and sledging areas. On its high point the official site contradicts itself: '1,500 m to 2,700 m' on the ski-area page, '2,150 m at the Grand Jeu chairlift' on the homepage — we quote both without settling it.
On the Nordic side, Aussois shares the Monolithe domain with Val Cenis-Sardières: 39.5 km over 9 trails per aussois.com — '39 km' per valcenis.com, a nuance we quote — groomed for skating and classic between 1,500 and 1,600 m, beneath the Sardières monolith (which has its own page). The pass is free for under-5s and over-75s (proof required); no other free offer is published. The village calls itself 'the ideal base camp for a family summer: activities, hikes, heritage and nature at the gates of the Vanoise National Park' — 'minutes from an international TGV station and the motorway'.
The 2026-27 season is published: 12 December 2026 to 9 April 2027. Winter adds snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice climbing and paragliding; in summer the activity pass (€37, 5 July to 30 August 2026) promises 'a maximum of activities at a mini price' at the Vanoise gates.
