What is Pralognan-la-Vanoise

Pralognan-la-Vanoise, 'nestled at 1,410 metres at the heart of the Vanoise massif', is the anti-ski-factory: 'a family village ski resort of the Alps' that has 'kept the typical traditions of a small Savoyard mountain village', with '70% of its territory at the heart of the Vanoise National Park'. Its unlinked domain climbs from 1,410 to 2,355 m — 'nearly 1,000 metres of vertical' — with 25 runs (9 green, 3 blue, 8 red, 5 black), 12 lifts and 64% of the surface under snowmaking; the Nordic domain lines up '27 km of waymarked trails', Savoie's 6th Nordic site, holding the '3 Nordics with excellence in services' label.

The free offers are family-shaped: the beginner area steps from the village is 'free for under-5s', lifts are free for under-5s and the 75-and-over, and the beginner pass (Petit Poucet and Barioz runs) holds at €20 a day. The Olympic heritage lives at the Le Cristal sports centre: the Olympic rink that hosted the curling of the Albertville 1992 Games — 'Olympic ice rink, curling sheet, multisports hall, fitness room, spa, pool and slide, billiards, bowling and bar'.
