What is Courchevel

Courchevel gathers 'six villages linked ski-in': Saint-Bon (1,100 m), La Tania (1,400 m), Courchevel-Village (1,550 m), Moriond (1,650 m), Le Praz and Courchevel 1850. 'On Courchevel's own domain alone, 150 kilometres of waymarked runs are yours' — and the resort is one gateway to Les 3 Vallées, which it presents as 'the world's largest ski area': '600 kilometres of runs', 347 runs, 85% of the domain above 1,800 m, high point at 3,230 m.

On the 3 Vallées lift count, the domain's own resorts disagree — '155' per courchevel.com, '156' per lesmenuires.com — and we quote both. For families: the 'Easy Rider' beginner zones, 'wide, gentle and secured, reachable from every village', the 1850 Family Park, and 'the link between villages… thanks to the free shuttles'. Cross-country skiing runs on 'free-access trails'.
