What is Boucle du lac de la Rosière

The Rosière lake loop, at the foot of the Avals valley (Courchevel Moriond), is classed a 'Comfort Walk' by Courchevel Tourisme: 1.8 km, about 1 h, 40 m of climb, easy, up to 1,686 m. The office's family blog calls it 'perfectly suited to families with young children', with a 'stroller-accessible path'. Along the way: the footbridge across the lake, the Père Fritsch botanical trail, a beginners' via ferrata, and newts to spot. The Poux waterfall, close by, has our separate page.

A paper curiosity, quoted as it stands: in winter the same site publishes a snowshoe 'Rosière lake loop' — 3.5 km, 1 h 45, +180 m, rated 'Difficult' (1 December to 30 April), with this warning: 'take care not to stop beneath the great avalanche couloirs of the Dent du Villard'. Same place, two loops, two seasons — do not set out in winter on the strength of the summer sheet.
