Saulire Cable Car

The Téléphérique de la Saulire runs from a bottom station at 2,077 m to a top station at 2,710 m above Courchevel, in Savoie. It is operated by the Société des 3 Vallées (S3V).

The installation was entirely rebuilt by POMA, with cabins by Sigma, for €10 million. It reopened to the public on Friday 6 December 2024, with an inauguration on 12 December. Stated throughput: 1,500 people per hour. Cabin capacity is given as about 130 by S3V — explicitly reduced from the 142 of the previous cabins because the new components are heavier — while another source writes 133. We therefore do not publish that figure.

From the top there is a 360° panorama over the Vanoise glaciers and the Mont-Blanc massif. In winter the top station serves the Combe de la Saulire and the Grand Couloir. Note that the bottom station sits at 2,077 m, well above the village of Courchevel 1850: a feeder lift is needed, and no operator source states which one runs in summer 2026.

Summer 2026 operation runs 4 July to 30 August, daily 9:30am–4:30pm. Outside that window access depends on the ski season, whose 2026-2027 dates are not yet published.
