What is Roche de Mio Gondola

The Roche de Mio gondola links Plagne Bellecôte to the summit of Roche de Mio, at 2,739 m, in the commune of La Plagne Tarentaise. The machine is new: it entered service in December 2025, with 10-seat cabins, a speed of 6 m/s and an advertised capacity of 3,140 people per hour. Any description mentioning 6-seat cabins describes the previous machine, now removed.

Two practical points matter more than the rest. First, it is closed on Saturdays: it runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, from 09:00 to 17:00. Second, the operator's page titles its summer season "Winter opening" while giving July and August dates — the label is wrong, the dates are not.
