The Col des Saisies links the Beaufortain to the Val d'Arly, in the commune of Hauteluce — Les Saisies is the resort's name, not the commune's, even though the pass's official address reads "73620 Les Saisies".
Its altitude is given as 1,650 m by the resort and 1,657 m by cols-cyclisme: seven metres nobody arbitrates.
This is not a high pass that closes in winter. The resort's site shows it open every day throughout 2026, because it serves an inhabited resort with accommodation and restaurants on site — where once there were only mountain farms.
