What is Voie verte Moûtiers – Aigueblanche
Opened on 21 May 2024, the Moûtiers – Aigueblanche greenway links the two communes via Salins-Fontaine, 'following the water' along the Isère. The official figures are modest and honest: 'Distance: 2.4 km', there and back, 'ascent: 12 m', an hour's outing, green-graded — easy, between 449 and 488 m. 'Dedicated to bikes (road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes…), it offers cyclists of every level a very pleasant ride'.
It is a valley-floor promenade, not a touring route — and one piece of something larger: phase 2 towards Pomblière and Saint-Marcel has been under way since summer 2024, and the whole belongs to the planned Albertville – Bourg-Saint-Maurice departmental route. One detail not to miss: the official listing states 'Animals accepted: No', which is rare on a greenway — the V63 listing in Savoie carries the same line.
